She was predeceased by: her parents, John "Jack" MacKay and Emily MacKay. She is survived by: her significant other David Gillis; her children, Jonathan Gillis (Karen) and Carley Sugeng (Hubert); her grandchildren, Lucy Gillis, Ryan and Emily Sugeng; her sisters, Judy Goodwin (Eric), Jean Brown (Allen) and Anne Tweedie (Graeme); her siblings-in-law, Anne Gillis Penney and Ralph Gillis (Lori); and her mother-in-law Edna Gillis MacLeod (Nicki).
In particular, the family would like to recognize and thank the Bruyere Memory Clinic in Ottawa, the Alzheimer's Society of PEI, the McGill Community Mental Health team, the Health PEI Home Care network, and the amazing staff at the Beach Grove Home in Charlottetown for their respective contributions to her care, all of which were provided with a wonderful balance of professionalism and empathy.
