He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Burns and Mary Burns; and his siblings, Donnie, Wilfred, Bobby, Jimmy and Gertie.
He is survived by: his children, Jaime and Ronnie; his siblings, Rickey (Cynthia), Andy, Mike (Theresa), Carly Cormier (Jimmy), Norma Dowling (late Jimmy) and Helen (Mike Bell); and his close friend Debbie Stanley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
