She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. David Knickle and Janet Knickle (Marshall); her grandparents, Douglas, Joyce Marshall (Buckler), William and Catherine Knickle (MacKenzie); her nieces, Jillian Lancaster, Olivia and Avery Currie; and her parents-in-law, Arnold and Janet Deighan.

She is survived by: her husband Paul Deighan; her children, MacKenzie Deighan, Jake Deighan (Tara Misener) and Sophie Deighan; and her siblings, Stephanie Knickle, Lori Lancaster (Scott), Craig Knickle and Lindsay Coffin (Troy).

Donations in Susan's memory can be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation (Unit 2 of the hospital).
