He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Gillespie and Hazel Gillespie (Malone); his wife Marguerite Poppy Gillespie (Wall); his children, Joel Gillespie (Becca), Matthew Gillespie (Erin Ling Gillespie) and Susan Chaisson (Brad); his grandchildren, Owen, Xavier, Everett Gillespie, Eliot, Clara Chaisson, Abby and Alex Gillespie; his in-laws, Norman Wall (Rosemary), Sheila Snow (Jim) and Carol Wall; his nephews, Jason Snow (Sarah), Robert Snow (Ashley Sangster) and Jared Wall (Katrina); and his niece Stephanie Mueller (Markus).

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Belvedere Funeral Home (175 Belvedere Ave, Charlottetown, PE C1A2Y9). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel (175 Belvedere Ave, Charlottetown, PE C1A2Y9).
