He was predeceased by : his parents, William E Johnstone and Vivian (Howatt); his wife Amy (Johnson); his sister Elizabeth (Lorne Ramsay); and his granddaughter Sherri Johnston-Stuart.

He is survived by : his children, Ruth (Wayne Johnston) and David Johnstone (Venessa Clyne); and his grandchildren, Jennie (Mike McDonald), Alex and Luke. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Geddie Memorial Cemetery.
