He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hutchings and Mary Hutchings (Barter); his son Jerry; and his siblings, Freeman (Ted), Clayton, Bill (Evelyn), Muriel and Ronald.

He is survived by: his close friend Rita; his children, Anthony, Leonard (late Catherine) and Sharon (Mike); his grandchildren, Sarah, Brandon and Jerry Jr.; his daughter-in-law Anabel Hutchings (Briseno); his brothers, Roy (Marie), Bruce (Louise) and Garry Hutchings; and his sister-in-law Grace Hutchings. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
