He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S. and Louise (Ramsay); his wife Elaine (Bryanton); his children, Delmar, Marvin, Garth Cousins and Edith Hammill (Dessy); and his siblings, Sutherland, Arthur, Fulton, John, Robert Keir, Norman Cousins, Edith Woodside and Mary Hickey.

He is survived by: his daughter Darlene McDonald (Dave); his grandchildren, Lesley Winsor (Steve MacNeil) of Ashley Hammill, D. L and Darby McDonald (Troy Sorensen); his sister Florence "Fluff" MacPhail (Burrows); his close friend Dorothy Bearisto; and his sisters-in-law, Mary and Shirley Cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Davison Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Princetown United Church (2205 PE-20, Kensington, PE C0B1M0). A burial was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the People's Cemetery.
