He was predeceased by: his parents, Garfield Carter and Helen Carter (Paquet); his siblings, Eric "Bim" Carter, Leona Savoie, Harvey Carter, Austin Carter, David Carter and Colin Carter; his friend Dora Gallant; his son-in-law Jimmy Drake (Jim Taras); Allea Aitken.
He is survived by: his children, Trapper, Garth Carter, Jamie Carter (Lora-Lee Mackay), Colleen Carter and Aaron Carter (Amanda MacVane); his grandsons, Matthew Burke (Miranda), Caleb Carter (MacKenzie Burley), Walker Carter, Tyson Carter and Austin Carter; his great grandchildren, Jayden Aitken, Stella Rose and Salem Knockwood; his siblings, Paulette Longaphie, Terry Carter (Jean), Janeen Laybolt (Dale) and Verna; and his sister-in-law Bonita Carter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dingwell Funeral Home (3 Washington St, Souris, PE C0A2B0). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (3 Longworth St, Souris, PE C0A2B0).
