She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Downe and Ella Mae Downe; her husband Elliot Murphy; her sons, Stephen Murphy and Lorne Murphy; her sister Margaret James (Wallace); and her sister-in-law Gloria Downe.

She is survived by: her children, Dana MacKinnon (Steve), Dennis Murphy and Darryl Murphy (Charmaine); her grandchildren, Kristen (Lucas), Kelsey, Lake, Olivia (Dillan), Rilynn, Luke, Isaac and Aiden; her great grandchildren, Everly, Austin, Hannah and Owen; and her siblings, Edward Downe (Georgina), Raymond Downe, Freda Wood (Doug), Susan Weyman (John) and Ruth Laverty (Elmer). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
