He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Herring and Harry Herring; his brother Harry; his sister-in-law Jane; his sister Joan; his brother-in-law Stan (Groves); his sister Lillian; his brothers-in-law, Ron (Corbet) and Bill McDonald; and his son-in-law Duane "Turk" Turley.

He is survived by: his sister Net McDonald (Bill); his grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron (Kelly), Britini (Mike), Brooke (Jay), Jaden, Nicholas (Carly), Blake (Flora), Devin (Alexis), Sidney (Hunter), Isaac, Kala and Tayo; and his great grandchildren, Madison, Lexi, Charlie, Callie, Hudson, Max, Toby, Penny, Oliver, Jack, Allie and Dawson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Elgin County would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
