He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia "Ginny" Mooney; his son Blair; his granddaughter Breann; his parents, Joseph and Mary; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Delia MacDonald; and his siblings, Reta, Eldon, Merlin, Evelyn, Peg, Ken, Gerry, Cecil and Joan.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Holmes (Gary) of Annandale, Janice of Charlottetown and Wayne of Poplar Point; his grandchildren, Brodie, Brandon, Keisha Holmes, Shane Mooney (Tricia Sanderson), Jordan Stewart (Morgan), Dawson Mooney and Caelan Mills-Mooney; his great grandchildren, Declan, Jayden Holmes, River and Ronin Mooney; his sisters, Louise of Michigan, USA and Doris (Bill) of Hamilton, ON; and his sisters-in-law, Rita Mooney and Gloria Johnston. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dingwell Funeral Home (8 Church Ave, Souris, PE C0A 2B0). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bay Fortune United Church.
If so desired, donation in memory of Cyril can be made to the Annandale United Church Cemetery Fund, the Souris and Area Branch of the PEI Wildlife Federation or Nature PEI.
