He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Peters and Annie Peters; and his brothers-in-law, Leonard Gallant, Greg Murphy, Henry MacDonald, Charlie MacPherson and Joe O'Connor.

He is survived by : his son Nick Waddell (Tara); and his siblings, Theresa Gallant, Winnie Murphy-Cantelo (Raymond), Bernice MacPherson, Elaine O'Connor, Bernie (Teresa), James (Donna), Jack (Margaret) and Hammond (Karen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

If so desired, donations in memory of Eldon can be made to the Diabetes Canada or the Eastern Kings Health Foundation (Souris Hospital).

Audrey B wrote a sympathy message

“I knew Eldon through music. He loved to join us for a jam once a week. Eldon loved to show his hand-made instruments made from anything - mostly tin cookie cans. One year he was searching for a certain size and shape of a can. I searched all over town with no luck. He loved to play his banjo/guitar. Our jammers missed him when he moved to Souris. John and I send our deepest sympathy to his family and sisters I know - Bernice, Elaine, and his nephew Randy. Rest in peace, Eldon.”
