She was predeceased by: her child Jordan; her parents, Ernest Dugas and Irene Dugas; her brother Philip Dugas; her nephew Conrad MacDonald; her parents-in-law, Charlie and Rita MacDonald; and her brothers-in-law, Sterling MacDonald, Elmer MacDonald, Albert Cheverie and Barry Sonmor.
She is survived by: her husband Richard; her son Paul (Erin); her grandchildren, Parker, McKenna and Luke; her siblings, Lolly Deagle (Wilfred), Fran Bruce (Rupert), Charlotte Coffin (James) and Bonnie MacDonald (Jimmy); her sister-in-law Susan Dugas (MacDonald); and her in-laws, Gen MacLean (Gerald), Cindy, Irene MacDonald, Paula Sonmor, Barb Cheverie, Preston MacDonald (Margie), Sheila Cheverie (Darky) and Darlene Clinton (Louie). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dingwell Funeral Home (8 Church Ave, Souris, PE C0A 2B0). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Columba Roman Catholic Church (7130 Northside Rd, Souris, PE C0A2B0).
If so desired, donations in memory of Ernestine can be made to the Eastern Kings Health Foundation (Souris Hospital) or the St. Columba Cemetery Fund.
