She was predeceased by : her father G. Hilliard Johnston; her husband Joseph MacKinnon; her daughter Janet MacKinnon; her siblings, Laura Boswell (George), William Johnston (Christine) and Mark Johnston (Charlotte); and her stepsons, Stewart and Blair Johnston.

She is survived by : her mother Janet Johnston (Matheson); her daughter Joanne MacKinnon; and her stepchildren, Sandra MacLean (Ronnie) and Kenneth Johnston. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
