He was predeceased by : his parents, Eva Mahar and Pat Mahar of Charlottetown; his siblings, Terry and Patricia "Tush"; and his parents-in-law, Art Ballem, Joan Bruce, Doug and Jeff Mobbs.

He is survived by : his wife Barb (Ballem); his children, Kory (Steph), Adam (Mindy) and Katie Knierzinger (Marc); his grandchildren, Grampie, Denver Mamye, Gappy, Charley Mae, Ellie Rose Knierzinger and Sophia Mahar; and his brothers, David (Marni) and Mike (Roxanne).

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Provincial Palliative Care Centre or the PEI Humane Society.
