He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Russell and Lillian Gertrude Matthews; his brother Ian Matthews; his parents-in-law, Edmond and Anna Gallant; and his siblings-in-law, Irma Collicutt, Fred Gallant, Stephen Gallant, Johnny Gallant and Victor Gallant.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Marie; his daughter Jennifer Matthews (Ryan Dunn) of Summerside; his grandchildren, Liam and Brooke; his siblings, Norma Harper of Toronto, ON, Olive MacNeill (late Thane) of Alberton, Velda LeBlanc (late Ed) of Peterborough, ON and Earl Matthews (Rena) of Elmsdale; and his sisters-in-law, Gertrude Matthews of Summerside, Lorraine Gallant (late Roy) of Kensington and Theresa Doucette (John) of North Granville. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and by his many friends.
