He was predeceased by : his wife Dora Mary Gavin; his parents, Daniel P. Gavin and Bessie N. Gavin; his grandson Mitchell; his parents-in-law, Cletus and Laura Gavin; and his stepmother Ethel McElhiney.
He is survived by : his family Clifford Daniel Gavin of Tignish; his children, Rick (Silvana) of Brampton, ON, Brian (Marlene) of Tignish, Clifford, Mike (Stephanie) of Tignish, Scotty (Patty) of East Stewiacke, NS and Kelly Pitre (Malcolm) of Christophers Cross; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Andrew, Conner, Kyle, Cameron, Seth, Daniel, Carter, Addison, Karlie and Blake; his siblings, Nadine Ramsay, Gary (Lee Ann) of Alberton and Austin (Clarence) of Saint John, NB.; and his stepbrother Fred McElhiney (Bev) of Alberton. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, friends.
