With profound sadness, we say goodbye to George Joseph Doucette of Tignish, Prince Edward Island, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Doucette and Regina Mary Doucette; his former wife Bernice Mary; and his siblings, Manny (Tillie), Dolly Curran (Frank), Josephine Chaisson (Isiodore), Lena Chaisson (Jerry), William (Eileen), Leslie and Leona.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Chaisson; his children, Ivan of Charlottetown, Barbara Doucette of Tignish, Michael (Linda) of Alberton, Elaine Anderson (late Wensell) of St. Peters, Phillip of Tignish, Roy (Nancy) of Red Deer, AB, Karen Arsenault (Terry) of Miscouche and David (Tracy) of Tignish Shore; his grandchildren, Brody, Jenna, Brittany, Christine, Sarah, Jillian, Jennifer, Connie, Dexter, Alllyson, Desirea, Kelsey, Candace and Molly; and his siblings, Marie McRae of Tignish, Anne of Toronto and Norman (Hilda) of Alberton. He is also survived by his 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel (419 Main St, Alberton, PE C0B1B0). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, February 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Simon and St. Jude Church (313 Church St, Tignish, PE C0B2B0).
