It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lloyd Joseph Gavin (Tignish, Prince Edward Island), who passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus and Laura; and his siblings, Ronnie, Dora (Clifford), Cletus Jr., Howard, Roy, Ralph, Patsy and Brian.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Gavin of Tignish; his daughter Nancy Laviolette (Dale) of St. Felix; his siblings, Marion Perry (late Ralph), Emmett (late Diane), Jimmy (Michelle), Gloria Gavin (late Pat Kelly), Hilda Moore (late Guy), Danny (Leona) and Kim Blanchard (Myron); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Gavin, Cyrus Gallant, Ronnie McCallum, Edie McCallum, Florence DesRoches (late Gerald Gavin), Tommy McCallum, Corinne Black (Wayne) and Joyce Fennessey (Barry). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 2nd 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel (419 Main St, Alberton, PE C0B1B0). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Simon and St. Jude Church (313 Church St, Tignish, PE C0B2B0).
