He was predeceased by: his parents, Duncan MacKendrick and Joyce MacKendrick (Campbell); his siblings, Beverley and Blair; his parents-in-law, Edwin and Vera Hansen; and his siblings-in-law, Florence Sanderson and Dale O'Brien.

He is survived by: his wife Donna MacKendrick (Hansen); his children, Jeff (Lori), Jerry (Kathy Coyle) and Joel; his siblings, Karen, O'Brien, Bruce MacKendrick (Leslie), Nancy DesRoches (Donnie) and Scott MacKendrick (Marion Stewart); his brothers-in-law, Frank Hansen (Barb), Bill Hansen and Murray Sanderson; and his pet Sweetpea. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
