He was predeceased by : his parents, James Smith and Eileen Smith (Greenan); and his siblings-in-law, Stanley Jr. (Hutchinson) and Annie Hardy. He is survived by : his wife Lois Anne; his children, Paul (Vanessa), Freeland, Stephen, Foxley River, Charlotte MacNevin (Lindsey), St Catharines and Scott; his siblings, Gregory Smith of Foxley River, Freeland of Foxley River, Leona Smith of Foxley River, Lorraine Savory (Cyril) of Foxley River and Bernetta Hutchinson; and his siblings-in-law, Ernest Hardy, Glenn Younker (Myron) and Brackley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
