She was predeceased by : her parents, Frederick Nowgesic and Deana Nowgesic. She is survived by : her son Nathan Nowgesic (Chelsie); her significant other Dennis Windigo; and her siblings, Connie (Kevin), Marilee (Carole) and Earl (Donald).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ellen's name to the La Maison Mathiew-Froment Savoie Palliative Care Centre, 170 rue Sherbrooke, Gatineau, Quebec, J8Y 2L6.
