With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ethel (McCarthy) Witmeur (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Québec), who passed away on March 28, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Pierre Hubert Witmeur; and her siblings, Lily (McQuaid), Theresa (Ilacqua), Matthew, Alex and Gerry. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or your local Humane Society as Ethel had a love for animals in need.

“Oh Ethel, how I miss you. We had such fun together. You introduced me to what is now one of my favorite drinks, calvados! When we wanted to go out for dinner we thought nothing of taking a cab into Montreal so we could dine at Gibby’s. There were our friendly quiet times too, times when we just sat around together, sometimes for hours, reading a favorite book. These are the memories I will cherish.
