He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis and Patricia. He is survived by: his wife Kim Checkley; his stepchildren, Leah (Tanner), Michael and Christopher (Taylor); his grandchildren, Sophia and Rowyn; his siblings, Kathy Oswin-Groh (Brent) and Robert (Sandra); and his nieces and nephews, Adam, Aaron, Sarah and Riley. He is also survived by extended family, aunts, uncles, many cousins.

Mike's supported Diabetes Canada, Advocate for Northern Animals, and the Muskoka OSPCA, all very worthy causes if you would like to make a donation in his memory.
