He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Leonie; his children, Heskel Schemtob (Nadine Greenstein) and Jane Schemtob (Douglas Barnes); and his caregivers, Irene and Terry. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A funeral service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM, on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM and on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM. A shiva was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 6:00 PM, and at the Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue Monday (4894 Ave Saint-Kevin, Montreal, QC H3W1P2).
