She was predeceased by: her parents, Assunciao Fernandez and Joaquim Fernandez; and her brother Eddie Fernandez of Nairobi, Kenya.. She is survived by: her children, Maria DeSouza, Michelle Dermott (Terry) and Carlito DeSouza (Renee); her sister Lourdes Rodrigues (Oliver); and her grandchildren, Matteo DeSouza Ram, Maya Dermott, Marcos and Guillaume DeSouza. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
