He was predeceased by: his mother Sara; his parent-in-law Ellie Cutler; and his siblings, Joanne Cutler (Merv Middling), Robert (Debbie Cutler) and Paul Cutler (Suzy Costom).

He is survived by: his children, Naomi Simms, Jeff Pressman, Jesse Simms and Jonathan Assouline; his grandchildren, Sam, Dylan, Jordy and Layla; his father Simmy; his father-in-law Harrison; and his siblings, Joel (Marleine Simms), Lois Simms (Gary Alexander) and Holly Botner (Marvin Simms). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as family, friends.
