He was predeceased by : his parents, David Abelson and Alice Abelson; his parents-in-law, Thomas and Florence Denterlein; his sibling Beverly Abelson Caplan; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Goacher, Charles Walter, Judy and Tom Thompson.

He is survived by : his wife Vicki Denterlein; his sons, Scott (Nicole) and David (Aimée); his grandchildren, Thomas, Alexandra and Olivia; his siblings-in-law, Sam Caplan, Carol and Donna; his niece Daisy; and his nephew Barry. He is also survived by his other nieces, nephews.
