He was predeceased by: his parents, Hyman Friedman and Dora Friedman; and his brothers, Arthur, Seymour and Leon.

He is survived by: his wife Naomi Schnarch; and his children, Linda Levin (Alan), Haskell and Marci Cohen (Jeremy). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
