He was predeceased by : his spouse Teresa Murphy of Cornwall; his parents, George Murphy and Margaret Murphy (Harrington); his parents-in-law, Wendell McKenna and Mary McKenna (Hagan); his brothers, Lou Murphy, Albert Murphy and Leo Murphy (Shirley); and his siblings-in-law, Frank McKenna, Phyllis McKenna and Margaret Bassett (Ellsworth).

He is survived by : his children, Brian Murphy (Lorri), Diane Murphy (Louis Laverty), Hope River, Wayne Murphy, Gerard Murphy, Colleen Nelson (Mike), South Rustico, Rachael Murphy (Paul), Zac Murphy, Olivia Murphy, Cameron Nelson, Evan Nelson, Charlie Wheaton, Maddie Wheaton and Ruby Murphy; his siblings, Bertha MacEachern (Albert), Edna Quibell (late Russ), Millie Dawson (Charlie), Jeannie Monaghan (Charlie), Saint John, Florence Ross (late Bill), Art Murphy of Cobourg, ON and Harold Murphy; and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Peters (late Terry). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
