He is survived by : his wife Gretta McKell; his children, Wendy (Doug Fitzgerald) and Doug (Sylvie Lussier); his grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah Lunny), Selena (Tyler Leschuk), Corey Fitzgerald, Michael (Marilyn Girard), Robert (Meredith Moore) and Kevin Whyte; and his great grandchildren, Kiera, Logan Whyte, Brooklyn, Jordyn Fitzgerald and Chloe Leschuk.

Donations in Ross's memory can be made to the Women's Auxiliary of the Barrie Memorial Hospital or a charity of your choice.
