He was predeceased by : his parents, Alec Attfield and Joan Nash (Nash); his sister Mary Ann; his wife Angela Senack; and his grandson Michael Melcher.

He is survived by : his children, Gary Jr. (Mikah MacIntosh) and Beverly (Kevin Melcher); his grandchildren, Parker, Benjamin and Cecilia; and his siblings, Cindy (Gary Mammoletti), Sandra (Dave Chamberlain) and Wayne (Nancy Hewens).
