He is survived by : his children, Darwin Desmarais (Kathryn), Kim Desmarais (Heidi), Shannon Miller (Brent), Richard Desmarais, Dwayne Desmarais, Teena Nelson (Orin), Quinton Desmarais and Paul Desmarais; his grandchildren, Andrew Miller (Scarlett), Kaitlyn Hancheryk (Tyler), Shea Ann Desmarais (Matt), Avery Desmarais, Paige, Gabriel Nelson and Shania Desmarais; and his great grandchildren, Levi, Lewis, Cooper and Rylee.

“Dear Desmarais Family, We have you in our thoughts and our prayers as you gather to say farewell to a wonderful gentle man-- father, grandfather, and brother. May you find peace and comfort in the memories you share during this difficult time. Farm visits to Robinhood where we visited the Desmarais was always special when we were youngsters. Our family were fortunate to have him live with us for a short while when he was beginning his career with Pool. Has like a big brother. R.I.P. Laurence.”
