It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marjorie McGirr (Assiniboia, Saskatchewan), who passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Verdun; her daughter Barbara Gail; her parents, Elizabeth Watchorn and John Watchorn; her grandchildren, Brandi Lee and Gregory; her siblings, Robert Watchorn, John Watchorn and Olive Pettem; and her siblings-in-law, Wilfred Platzer, Delmar Pettem, Albert McGirr, William McGirr and Irene McGirr.
She is survived by: her daughters, Eldeen Boehmer, Judy Kesslar (Dan) and Verda Longley (Morley); her sisters, Dorothy Platzer and Doreen Oakes (Dick); her sister-in-law Gibby Watchorn; and her grandchildren, Scott Maddocks, Karen Ulmer, Tanya Piller (Justin), Tim Kesslar (Raegan), Shauna Easterby (Corey), Lisa Hartley and Curtis Longley (Leah). She is also survived by Nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Ross Funeral Chapel (123 4th Ave E, Assiniboia, SK S0H 0B0).
