He was predeceased by : his parents, Emma and Adolf; his wife Eleanor (Playter); his daughter Gladys; his son-in-law Harvey Palmier; and his siblings, Lydia Milton (George), Olga Okraincee (Peter), Albert (Wilma), Arthur (Wally), Elsie Morin (John), Irene Jan (Alfred) and Percy.

He is survived by : his children, Walter (Shirley Kiel), Deanna Palmier (Terry Heglin), Phillip (Sheila) and Gregory; and his sister-in-law Eva Kiel.
