He was predeceased by: his wife Alice; his son Donald; his grandson Craig; his parents, Annie and Frank; and his siblings, Jack, Bert and Kathleen.
He is survived by: his children, Larry (Karen), Tim (Patricia), Annette Cowan (James), Kerry (Ruth) and Dean (Tracy); and his siblings, Tom, Jim (Dorothy) and Dora Mills. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
