He was predeceased by : his parents, Nick Hanewich and Pauline Hanewich; his wife Nell Hanewich; and his siblings-in-law, Steve and Ann Yawney.

He is survived by : his children, Janice Key (Glenn) of Saskatoon, SK, Jodyjane Hrywkiw (Brent) of Stony Plain, AB, Janet Flett (Shawn) of Saskatoon, SK and James of Yorkton, SK; his grandchildren, Kyla (Jon), Pharyne, Daneka (Jared), Braeden, Benton and Ellyn; his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Tatum, Sutter and Bowen; his siblings, Myra Sklaruk and Bob Hanewich (Alva); and his siblings-in-law, Rose Marchinko (Herb), Dianne Potts and Walter Yawney. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
