He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Martel and Rolande Martel; his son Jeffery; and his sisters, Cecil Espe and Irene Rumbold.

He is survived by: his wife Jenny; his daughter Cindy Martel (Brent); his siblings, Henry Martel (Caroline), Jeanette Martel and Jeannine Martel; and his stepdaughters, Corinna Goertzen (Jake), Colleen McWilliams (Ken) and Connie Thomas (Kevin). He is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
