He was predeceased by: his former wife Gladine Berntson; his daughter-in-law Judy; and his adoptive father Edward (Alice Peachey). He is survived by: his wife Stephanie; his sister Elizabeth; his sons, Darwyn (Janice) and Barry (Beth); his granddaughter Robin; his great grandchild Joshua; Byron (Natalee), Karla, Jocelyn, Keeli, Avery and Colton. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that new and used books be donated to Read Saskatoon (Foundation Learning and Skills Saskatoon).
