He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelo Bertoia and Elsie Bertoia; his wife Shirley Vera Hewson; his siblings, Silvio, Avelino, Dele, Rita DeCosta and Avelina Kowal; his parents-in-law, Russell and Gladys Hewson; and his siblings-in-law, Madeline Bertoia, Dorothy Veikle, Laverne Herriman, Murray Kowal, Ralph Hewson, Stan Hewson, Ottar Veikle, Ardagh Coe and Lynn Biggart.

He is survived by: his children, Holly, Kim (Rhonda), Todd (Nicole) and Derek (Kristine); his grandchildren, Krystie Hardy (Cole), Nikki, Stephen (Morgan), Shenelle (Reed), Ashleigh McGovern (Stephen), Taylor, Madison (Brennan), Dawson, Brandt, Jaxon, Brooklyn, Tylan and Caleb; his great grandchildren, Ryder, Quinn, Aubrey McGovern, Emersyn and Jackson Hardy; his siblings, Louise Herriman, Loretta Bertoia, Oswald (Mary) and Leo (Charlotte); and his siblings-in-law, Gail Bertoia, Joyce Hewson, Fern Coe, Mary Biggart and Ang DeCosta.
