He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Matcyk and Anne Matcyk (Blahut); his mother-in-law Fanny Petryk; his siblings, Norman, Allan, Walter Matcyk and Bernice Barabash; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Barabash, Ray Braid, Mike Petryk and Anne Filuk.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Petryk; his daughter Marella Chopping (Jason) of Dubuc, SK; his grandsons, Mason and Matthew; his son Myron Matcyk (Sara) of Ebenezer, SK; his grandchildren, Emme and Bennett; and his siblings, Gerald Matcyk of Yorkon, SK, Jan Fraser (Bud) of Comox, BC, Angie Skiba (Ron) of Saskatoon, SK and Judi Braid of Stony Mountain, MB. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
