He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Shirley and Isabelle Shirley; his in-laws, Kathleen and Lloyd Stueck; his daughter Lauralie Claire Shirley; his daughter-in-law Lynnette; his grandson Zachariah; his brother Murrough; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley and Leota.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Marie Shirley (Stueck); his siblings, Marion and Wayne (Lorraine); his sisters-in-law, Elaine (Horst) and Sharyn (Richard); his sons, Vaughn (Kim), Darryl (Terri) and Todd (Deanah); his siblings' children, Gail (Bryan), Robin (Rick) and Sheri-Ann (Archie); his grandchildren, Willie, Brennan (Amanda), Andrew (Kleber), Adam (Elena), Dalton, Jessica (Lionel), Devin (Tracy), Jade, Ryan (Hannah), Shawnee (Karissa), Haylee (Dylan), TJ (Ariel) and Kayla; his great grandchildren, Myles, Ayden, Jackson, Violet and Cassian; and his grandchildren, Sheri-Ann, Joan, Kim, Channy and Anna.
