He was predeceased by : his parents, Albin Carlberg and Lillian Carlberg; his siblings, Albin Jr. Carlberg, Elaine Hofmeister and Shirley Mae Luchenski; and his son-in-law Gary Irwin.

He is survived by : his wife Margaret Shirley; his daughter Heather; his grandchildren, Cory (April), Kendal (Nathan) and Courtney (Jesse); his daughter Theresa (TJ); his grandchildren, Lara (David) and Clayton (Candice); his daughter Dianna; his grandchildren, Brett (Carla), Kim (Jason) and Tyson (Carrie); and his children, Cathy (Ghislain), Jesse (Marcy), Rebecca, Melanie (Trevor), Cordelle (Ashley) and Kayla (Cody). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
