He was predeceased by : his parents, Newton Byers and Kathleen Byers; his siblings, Willene Kerr, Wilma Gilmer and Murray Byers; his fathers-in-law, Dennis Kerr, Nick Stropko and Alex Engelke; and his wife Margaret Engelke.
He is survived by : his children, Wayne (Cheryl), Val Byers (Ray Olson), Eleanor Cook (Jamie), Sandra Burton (Ken), Roland and Candyce Laurin (Percy); his grandchildren, Aaron Byers (Kerri), Laura Ruzesky (Matthew), Justin Burton, Chris Burton (Brooke Walker), Brendan, Reagan Cook and Danica Laurin; his great grandchildren, Nora and Caleb Neil Byers; his sister Donna Baldwin (Bob); and his sisters-in-law, Donna Byers, Gladys Stropko and June Engelke. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
