He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Shannon and Bernice Shannon; his son Robert Shannon; his siblings, Don Shannon (Francis), Eileen Yake (Stanley) and Iona Thoreson (Allen); his brother-in-law Ron Thoreson; his nephew Brian Thoreson; and his great-niece Shannon Quintin.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Shannon (Johnston); his son Tom Shannon; his daughter-in-law Patti Shannon; and his grandchildren, Kalese (Josh Simek) and Wesley Shannon (Sam). He is also survived by numerous Nephews, Nieces and Great Nephews and Nieces.
