He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Clarke (John Herbert) of Imperial Saskatchewan and Mora Jean Clarke (Lamond) of Sydney. He is survived by: his wife Maggie Clarke (Porter); his children, John-Derek (Adrienne), Jennifer, Sarah (Jamie) and Dawn (Derek); his grandchildren, Thomas, Olivia, Isaiah, Callista, Rhys and Juliet; his great grandchild Tommy; and his brothers, Russell (Eileen) of Ottawa, Keith (Mary) of Marion Bridge, Douglas (Delia) of Marion Bridge, Robert (Gisele) of Edmonton, Tim of Moose Jaw and Sam of Whitehorse.

For those who wish, remembrances and donations can be made to the York Care Foundation, or the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick.

“I am Don's only biological daughter, Jennifer. I am saddened that his death was used to get one last stab at me. Dawn Setford was not a foster daughter but a high-school friend of mine who I had a falling out with. The narrative that she was "found on the street by my Bio Mother" or a "foster child" is not only disrespectful to my father and his extended family but also to her family. It speaks volumes that his adopted daughter would cosign this disrespect of his memory.”
