With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leonard Straightnose (Kamsack, Saskatchewan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 23, 2026 at the age of 77. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Straightnose and Margaret Straightnose (Shingoose); and his siblings, Leslie Straightnose, Joe Straightnose, Jerry Straightnose, Lambert Straightnose, Lucy Keshane, Mary and Doris Straightnose.
He is survived by: his siblings, William Straightnose (Darlene), Ralph Straightnose, Wally Straightnose, Elizabeth Still and Gladys Quewezance (Ted); his children, Leroy Whitehawk, Lillian Ironstand (Marvin), Sandi Ironstand (Norman), Forbes Ironstand (Lee Anne), Ron Cote (Delores), Harold "Mister" Straightnose, Chris "Ontake" Straightnose (Lavonne) and Norman "Pitchaw" Straightnose (Margaret); his nephew Vernon "Buddy" Keshane; his grandfathers, Bobuts and Jared Ironstand; and his granddaughters, Rhonda Ironstand, Talia Straightnose, Stephanie Keshne and Rosina Whitehawk.
A wake was held on Friday, February 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Keeseekoose Chief's Education Center. Viewing was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
