He was predeceased by: his parents, John Benko and Frances Benko; his granddaughter Kristina Dyck; his brothers, Clarence and Andrew; and his parents-in-law, Eugene and Anna Anton.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Anton; his children, Brian (Deb), Cindy Negrin (Dennis) and Rosanne Dyck (Al); his sibling Val; and his sister-in-law Mary Benko (Andrew) of Winfield, AB. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 8 grandchildren.

Due to Covid restrictions a memorial service will be held in BC at a later date.
