He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy; his son Dan Pitura; his parents, Andrew Pitura and Jessie Pitura; and his parents-in-law, Pearl Voakes Doucette and Lawerence Doucette.

He is survived by: his children, Colleen McCrank (Bob), Scott Pitura (Nancy), Doug Pitura (Cathy), Janet Spence (Garth) and Dale Pitura (Sue); his daughter-in-law Carla Pitura; his siblings, Mary Slusar (John) and Ron Pitura (Charm); and his sisters-in-law, Betty Paget and Patsy Voakes. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren.
