He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Patton and Carmel Patton; his parents-in-law, Harold and Adeline Jackel; his daughter-in-law Charlene Patton; and his sisters, Irva Champ (Eric) and Noreen Lowe.

He is survived by: his children, Gaylene Sundquist (Brad) and Jason Patton (Laura Hayes); his grandchildren, Clay Patton (Courtney), Jaclyn Kohlman (Robbie), Julie Patton, Cole Patton, Claire Patton, Troy Sunquist and Amy Sunquist; his great grandchild Maebry Forseth (Sundquist); his siblings-in-law, Barry Lowe, Myla Schmipf (Stan), Brad Jackel (Marie), Vicki Dreger, Don Dreger and Gary Jackel (Nora); and his pet Tina.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Major Centennial Hall.
